A Blog About Making Comics and Art

Today I want to talk about one of the earliest comics I made in my "Adult" life.
I was recently out of college,3 dissapointed how I'd spent the past 4 years on a fetch quest completing a degree I thought would "mean something" to someone else.

I spent the next 6-months to a year pursuing my own interests. I took a screen writing class, I picked up the guitar again; I even began pursuing comics again - a hobby that dominated my middle school and high school life. I realized that beyond a few short comics here and there, I had never attempted anything that resembled fitting into the traditional print format.

So I picked up a story my friend David wrote in high school. David was a phenomal writer who took much inspiration from Tolkein and had in fact finished several novels before we graduated high school.

The Script was deep and descriptive; the characters had presence, and my mind immediately became obsessed with translating it to Comics - particulary in the style of Jack Kirby - a foundational comic book creator I had recently learned to appreciate {Thanks Tom Scioli!}
